In pursuit of its mission to advance and sustain a vibrant and diverse arts and cultural life in the capital region, the Cultural Enrichment Fund (CEF) provides unrestricted operating support to a diverse group of Core Arts Organizations across multiple disciplines. The Fund’s board of directors selects the disciplines that it desires to fund and then seeks the most impactful local organization in that discipline as the Fund’s partner. Core Arts Organizations receive an annual allocation from the Fund’s campaign according to a predetermined formula.
The Core Arts Organization funding stream will only be expanded as additional campaign funding is garnered. The disciplines and actual Core Arts Organizations that are funded are reviewed every five years by the Fund’s Core Arts Organization Review Committee. The next full Core Arts Organization review will take place in the spring/summer of 2022.
In addition, CEF seeks to integrate cultural appreciation in the everyday lives of underserved audiences. This is done through an additional funding stream, the Arts for All Partnership, in collaboration with The Foundation for Enhancing Communities.
